Sobre este artículo
1st edition, proof copy, published by George Allen & Unwin Ltd. in London, 1961. Translated from the French by A. Lytton Sells, and includes a preface by Daniel-Rops of the Académie Française. In near-fine condition. The softcover is very faded along the spine, and there are a few small tears, likely a result of shelving damage. There is a 'Book Proof' stamp mark in the centre of the front cover. Some tanning and foxing visible on the inside pages. Includes small printed blurb and details about book inside.
Sinopsis
God Was Born in Exile is a novel by Romanian author Vintilă Horia, for which he was awarded the Prix Goncourt in 1960, though he was never handed the prize following allegations that surfaced after his nomination that he had once been a member of the Iron Guard. The novel's narrator is Ovid, the Roman poet, and this apocryphal work is rather similar to Marguerite Yourcenar's Mémoires d'Hadrien in which Yourcenar writes the Roman emperor Hadrian's mémoires.
