First printing Very near fine in blue-green cloth covered boards with gilt on black title blocks on the spine and with the author's gilt initials on the front board and with a light blue top stain to the text block. In a very good-, unclipped dust jacket with 1/8" chipping across the upper edge of the spine area, a three inch closed tear to the front fold to the flap and several short closed tears around the edges of the rear panel with a tape repair to its verso side. 422 pages of text. A novel of the American frontier.
