Sobre este artículo

London : John Lane: The Bodley Head , 1897. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 7.5" by 5". None . A very smart first edition of this religious fantasy novel by English novelist and playwright Laurence Housman. The first edition of this work. With twelve pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear.In the publisher's original cloth binding.Bookplate of one John Gretton to the front pastedown, an English peer and owner of Stapleford Park in Leicestershire.A fantasy story with Christian undertones, a feature of Housman's writings that were scandalous, particularly when it came to his on-stage depictions of biblical characters. The take-off of Housman's career was peculiar, in that his first literary success 'An Englishwoman's Love Letters' was originally anonymous.  In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with slight shelf wear to the extremities. Slight fading to the spine. Bookplate of one John Gretton to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with offsetting to the endpapers. Very Good Indeed
