Very Good -. vii, [1], 244, [4] p., frontispiece and 2 leaves of illustrations; 19 cm. 20th-century half calf with six spine compartments: black leather labels in 2nd and 4th compartments with gilt-tooled title and author. Gilt-tooled decoration in remaining compartments. Beige paper over boards with gilt-tooled illustration and borders. All page edges marbled. Floral endpapers. Beige ribbon bookmark. Publisher's advertisements on 4 pages following text. The author interprets Goethe's Italian Journey (Italienische Reise) as a guide to travelling in Italy. In Very Good- Condition: old dampstain at spine ends, lower edge of back board, and just barely at lower edge of front board, with no impact internally; gilt is bright; pages and illustrations are clean and bright.
