Brick red beveled cloth stamped in gilt and black, gilt illustration of railroad engine on front cover, 12 mo, 266 pp., brown endpapers. Illustrated with 20 full page drawings. Interesting observations on the author's travels in the south after the Civil War. No marks in book, binding solid, front hinge cracked but holding. Lacking ffep.Covers show edge wear, 1/2" tear to cloth bottom of spine both front and rear joints. Book condition Good+. Uncommon title dealing with both consumption and travel in the 1870's.
