Sobre este artículo

New York: Holt, Rinehart & Winston, 1983. First edition stated, First printing by number line. Hardcover. AS NEW/FINE. Herman Mishkin. FINE ORIGINAL DUST JACKET. HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER, presents an OPERA COLLECTORS ITEM EXTRAORDINARY: THE GOLDEN AGE OF OPERA was written and published in 1983 by ROBERT TUGGLE, who was at that time the Director of Archives for the Metropolitan Opera. He used official photographs in the archives taken by Herman Mishkin, the Official Photographer to the Metropolitan Opera from 1910 to 1932. To top it off, ANTHONY BLISS, General Director of the Met from 1974 to 1985, wrote the Forward to the book. There are nearly 200 black and white photos and biographies of opera singers who performed in New York opera houses from 1906 to through 1932. This FIRST EDITION STATED, FIRST PRINTING THUS has never been reprinted since the 80's, and is next to impossible to find in this condition. 8 3/4" x 10 1/4", 246 pages (may require additional postage) with original dust jacket. Overall book is AS NEW, with a dedication to the owner on the first fep. The cover is a brown cloth quarter bound on cream boards, with gold gilt particulars on the spine only. The price clipped original dust jacket (glossy stiff paper with Mishkin's most famous portrait of Enrico Caruso as "Canio" in "I Pagliacci", particulars in white front, black on white spine) = Fine: slight wear to top front edge, ring from bottom of a glass on lower left front, else clear and unblemished.
