In 1844, her father sent her an illustrated book which he had commissioned. The book is currently housed in the British Museum. A book of her reminiscences was published in 1980. Edited by M. M. Kaye, it was called The Golden Calm. Bayley was born Emily Annie Theophila Metcalfe, the daughter of Grace and Sir Thomas Metcalfe, 4th Baronet, a British civil servant in India known as the British Resident (de facto Ambassador). She was born in India, but raised in England before rejoining her father in Delhi at the age of seventeen." This memoir contains reproductions in colour of some the artwork her father had commisioned and her own reminiscences of a life spent in the halls of power and wealth before the downfall of the Moghuls with excerpts from "the Dehlie book" .

Sobre Ainsworth Books

Ainsworth Books was for many years a bricks and mortar store in Vancouver, BC. When we acquired the store, we moved to a location in Delta. After three years we moved the stock home and started operation as an online, by appointment only operation. I have worked with books my whole adult life and enjoy giving recommendations.
