Sobre este artículo

[(London: Printed and sold by the Author at his House in Horse-lie-down and William Marshall at the Bible in Newgate-street: 1694)] First Edition. Full leather (that is, hard covers) pp. viii, 500. Subscribed below the introductory address ‘To the Christian Readers; Chiefly to such who were the Subscribers for, and principal Promoters of the Publication of this work’ is printed Benjamin Keach and his address. The address ‘From my House at Horse-lie-down, in Freeman’s-Lane, Southwark, Septemb. 13. 1694’ is written out in full much larger than the reduced font of the printer, and with some small variation in spelling. This book of sermons by the redoubtable Baptist also includes the words only of two ‘Hymns of Praise’. INCOMPLETE: LACKS TITLE PAGE and FRONTISPIECE; LACKS The Alphabetical Table (i.e. Index) pp. 501-6 at rear An ownership inscription dated 1745 on verso of title page is partly torn away; various members of this Buswell family have added signatures in the margins of a few leaves, along with a very few annotations. Spine and edges of boards heavily worn; external hinges are split and reinforced with old tape; upper corner of title page torn away removing ‘pet’ from ‘trumpet’; margins of pp. ii-viii and 1-6 professionally restored with a little loss of printed marginal references; pagination proceeds straight from 70 to 75, where an inner title page is missing; pp. 419 to 448 have worm damage, but the loss is mainly marginal and any damage to the text is readily decipherable; a small burn hole pp. 293-4 has caused the loss of a few letters; altogether a good copy of a book which appears to have been well-consulted for the guidance it contained.

Sobre exPB

I am the daughter of Pioneer Books, our business has closed down after 43 years and I am listing some of it on my own account now that I'm the proud owner of the residual stock! I am selling them at half the price at which they were listed when Pioneer Books existed.
