Deckled pages generally very good, some yellowed adhesive residue, toning at endpapers; no writing. Bind good, moderate offset to front endpapers; hinges intact. Scarce original wrapper, some shelf wear, rub, toning; unclipped 3.00, protected in new clear sleeve. Adhesive and dried residue remains to front and back flaps. Front panel states: Thirty-six Printings... 1,303,000 copies" and quote from New York Times: "In sheer readability it is surpassed by nothing in American fiction!". Near very good first edition, early printing in near good wrapper.
