A harbinger of the massive population growth of Seattle and the greater Northwest that culminated in the grunge, Starbucks, Chihuly, Microsoft and other cultural business phenoms becoming household names.

Egan documented all as the local correspondent for the New York Times. Includes a chapter devoted to finding Seattle climbing luminary Fred Beckey in the North Cascades. Dust jacket is now preserved within a clear, removable archival sleeve.
