A very scarce edition of this work, published by The Religious Tract Society, in the publisher's original cloth binding with a colour plate to the front board and monochrome plate to the spine. Top edge gilt. Illustrated with eight colour plates reproduced from watercolours by Harold Copping (1863-1932), a British artist best known for his successful 1910 book The Copping Bible. His illustrations were published in many periodicals, such as The Leisure Hour, Little Folks and Pearson's Magazine. He also illustrated other books such as The Pilgrim's Progress (1903), Westward Ho! (1903), and A Christmas Carol (1920).Louisa May Alcott's sequel to Little Women, following the March sisters as they learn to deal with the responsibilities and troubles of adulthood. Meg ventures into married life, while Amy travels to Europe. Jo is writing and Beth struggles with her health. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally mostly bright and smart, except for a small mark to the rear board and a little fading and soiling to the spine. Small bump to the upper extremity of the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd spot throughout. Very Good

Sinopsis

Little Women (or Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy) is a novel by American author Louisa May Alcott (1832–1888). Written and set in the Alcott family home, Orchard House, in Concord, Massachusetts. It was published in two parts in 1868 and 1869. The novel follows the lives of four sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March—and is loosely based on the author's childhood experiences with her three sisters.

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
