Many black and white full page and in-text wood-engravings, decorative endpapers, xiv+419, 259, 278 pp, index, 4to (10.5 x 7.5"), marbled text block edges, gilt decorative embossed red cloth-covered boards. Light wear at extremities (two corners bumped with light fraying of cloth), light toning to endpapers, generally a particularly clean and bright set. The cover decoration features a bust of the playwright in gilt amid a black and gilt decorative fret work, with gilt and black decorative work on the spine, all as bright and fresh as when issued. Many of the author's famous plays are included, eg. "Nathan the Wise", "Miss Sara Sampson" and "Minna von Varnhelm". Text is in German. .
