DANTE ALIGHIERI'S GOTTLICHE KOMODIE, Scarce complete two-volume set of Dante Allighieri's Divine Comedy, with 135 beautiful full-page woodcut illustrations by Gustav Dore. No date provided, but only other copy available states 1870, as do catalog records. Three Divine Comedy books in two folio volumes, with a total of 515 pages and measuring 12"" x 15"". Ornate gilt-decorated dark red full leather boards, with gilt on all sides. All engravings retain their original tissue papers. In very good condition: both volumes have minor shelfwear; mild wear to edges and corners; numbers on spines, but no other library markings present; binding is tight; interior is otherwise clean and unmarked save normal occasional age-toning.Rebound using original covers and spine.
