Sobre este artículo

Chicago: The Reilly & Lee Co., 1924. First Edition, First State . Cloth w Paper Cover Illust.. About Very Good. Octavo. John R. Neill. Chicago: Reilley & Lee, 1924. First Edition, earliest state, all points (see below). Illustrated by John R. Neill. 271 pp. About Very Good; fading to spine, front pictorial endpapers colored in by a presumably youthful hand, wear and some soiling on covers, ownership label filled out. See scan. All twelve color prints and the textblock are in exceptionally nice condition, having the appearance of not having been read. About Very Good binding. First edition, first state of Ruth Plumly Thompson's 1924 offering in the Oz series. Complete type (not broken) at page 171 (numeral) and page 189 (last word, next to last line), indicating first printing (Hanff & Greene), and color plates are coated on printed side only. These twelve plates, virtually pristine here, make one want to excise and frame them, ubut you can't do that. They are the work of the beloved illustrator John R. Neill, as are the dozens of smaller black and white illustrations. Thompson's tale carries on the tradition: A princess. A prince. An old soldier, a wise man, and a prophet. A chicken and a pirate.
