First few pages and front wrap with a paperclip impression, a few pages with small ink marks, front cover with a red ink marking, corners and spine ends slightly bumped, still very good. Laid in is a holograph note to South African poet and activist Dennis Brutus Signed by Norman Rush, who contributes an essay, "The Unrest: Johannesburg". Brutus' owner initials are inside the front cover, with Rush's address in ink on the first page, and a holograph poem initialed and dated by Brutus on the last blank page. Additional contributions by David Plante, Robert Sherrill, Andrew Kopkind, Kent Haruf, Esther McCoy, Linda Pastan, John Hollander, David Lehman, E.M. Cioran and more.
