SECOND EDITION circa 1947, dated from adverts on the lower panel of the dustwrapper, first published in 1935. 4to, 250 x 185 mm, 10 x 7¼ inches, red backed colour illustrated boards, silver lettered spine, 87 pages. Coloured frontispiece and 23 full page attractive coloured illustrations by Ludwig Richter. These are in archaic style and partially colour printed to imitate handcolouring. 5 fairy tales not translated into English before 1935. No inscriptions, near Fine in very good DUSTWRAPPER (dw: not price clipped, very slightly chipped at head and tail of spine, a couple of small closed edge tears, white spine slightly darkened, a few slight marks to upper and lower panels).
