Sobre este artículo

New York: Viking Press, 1973. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Thick octavo. 6 x 8.75 in. 760 pp. Near fine in the original orange cloth with a few spots along the top rear edge and upper spine, and with a near fine illustrated dust jacket that has minor rubbing to the upper left cover on the front cover but appears bright and without the typical sun fading to the spine. Otherwise, the jacket is in pristine condition. The front hinge opens easily but overall the binding is firm and without any of the typical leaning. The $15.00 price remains intact on the front flap, as does the 0273 publication code. A beautiful and unfaded copy of Pynchon's almost-Pulitzer winning masterpiece.

Sinopsis

Thomas Ruggles Pynchon, Jr. is an American novelist. TIME Magazine included the novel in its "All-Time 100 Greatest Novels," a list of the best English-language novels from 1923 to 2005. This novel; Gravity’s Rainbow is a fabulous work of hysterical realism. The story takes place primarily in Europe at the conclusion of World War II. The narrative centers on Tyrone Slothrop who is an American on a mission to locate V-2 rockets that have been manufactured by the German military. The novel describes misadventures of several unusual characters and illustrates the struggle between those who rebel against the war and those who suppress their identity in order to be able to better serve. Although fictional, the story seamlessly integrates actual historical events into the plot. A fascinating work of penetrating analysis regarding the impact technology makes upon society. Nebula Award Nominee for Novel (1973) , National Book Award for Fiction (1974) , William Dean Howells Award
