Published by Blackie & Son, London, Circa 1925. 8vo up to 9½" tall., 306pp. with six black and white plates illustrated by Edward S. Hodgson. Illustrated boards, bevelled edges. In very good condition with ex-libris label to pastedown, name free endpaper; title page separated near bottom of hinge, boards have light wear.
A science fiction and adventure, originally published in 1911, with fantastic flight in a futuristic airplane, The adventure moves from England (where the young protagonists befriend a scientist with an advanced jet powered by "broadcast" electricity) to Canada to Mongolia to Africa.
Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick Sadleir Brereton, (1872-1957) was a British Army medical officer and an author of children's books on heroic deeds conducted in the name of the British Empire. See pictures for additional available titles by Captain F.S. Brereton.
