London, John Bartholomew &: Co, c. 1913. Lithographed map, 69.5 x 94.5 cm, sheet size 74 x 98.5 cm, printed in colours, a couple of short splits and tears, trivial spotting, blank verso. Coloured to show manufacturing towns and districts, collieries to which the GCR had access, and proven and concealed coalfields, with an inset section through concealed coal measures running east from Barnesly and Doncaster to Market Rasen (the Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire coalfield). The lines of the Great Central Railway, linking these centres of industry with the wider world, are printed in bold. The map was published inPer Rail. Transportation is the Life Blood of Commerce, an example of GCR publicity material. Map
