Peale & Company, 1888. 998 pp. + 4 pp. excerpt from the author's "Ragnarok: The Age of Fire and Gravel." 8vo., brown cloth stamped in gilt and dark brown. Fair to good condition; moderate shelfwear, soine and corners worn, front joint splitting. Binding detached from bookblock. Frontispiece engraving of Bacon fine, with tissue guard intact. Folding plate facing p. 566 has a large closed tear with no loss and some old tape repair to reverse. With diagrams in the text. Francis Bacon as the author of Shakespeare's plays.
