New York: Norton, 2008. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/fine. 315p, octavo. A very good copy in a fine jacket. This particular copy belonged to neurosurgeon, author, and illustrator Ludwig Kempe (1915-2012). Kempe has doodled his name and a creature on the half title page. His name also appears drawn in red and green ink along upper edge of text block, with additional marginal notations/drawings and light underlining on a handful of pages scattered throughout.
