Sobre este artículo

This is a lovely leather-bound copy of the classic novel Great Expectations, Charles Dickens' last complete novel (1861).

This copy was published in 1979 by the Franklin Library (Franklin Mint). It is dark red leather with an elaborate gold design on the cover and spine. It has a bound-in silk bookmark.

Inside, the book is perfect. Lovely thick paper, creamy white. Gold-edges pages, chapter headings are in red. Marbelized endpapers. 526 pages; there are several illustrations but I don't want to pick through the book to count how many there are. Illustrations are in color.

This book has not been read, or even opened. All pages are like new, crisp and clear and without marks of any kind (my camera flash isn't working--the pages are much lighter than in the photos).

The spine is un-cracked, the covers have no shelfwear at all—it is in pristine condition.

Sinopsis

Great Expectations is a classic novel by Charles Dickens, published in 1861. It tells the story of Pip, a young orphan boy brought up by his abusive sister and her blacksmith husband in rural England. Pip dreams of becoming a gentleman and escaping poverty, but his life takes a dramatic turn when he receives a large fortune from an anonymous benefactor. As he rises in society, he becomes involved with a host of colorful characters, including the eccentric Miss Havisham and her adopted daughter Estella, and learns valuable lessons about love, loyalty, and the true meaning of happiness. The novel is considered one of Dickens' greatest works and a masterpiece of English literature.
