The book is a thorough examination and history of the four breeds comprising the totality of modern heavy horses - Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk and Percheron, horses which can weigh a ton, have a girth of over 8 feet and a height of perhaps six feet at the withers. NOTE that overseas orders but not UK ones will attract a postage supplement on account of the base weight of approaching 1,150g.
