Bound in red cloth with lettering blindstamped and in relief on the front board, black lettering on spine. In the illustrated dust jacket that shows a bit of edge-wear, spine a moderately faded, a small soil spot on front panel, and with a triangular chip on the rear panel, roughly the size of a quarter. Please see photos. Locke's novel, following his successful The Coming of Amos, involves romance and metallurgy, the latter reflected in the exotic gold-flake finish of the dust jacket. The metallic quality remains reflective. Dust jacket is now preserved in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
