Sobre este artículo
London, George Routledge and Sons, pre 1887.. FIRST EDITION OR EARLY REPRINT pre 1887, 203 x 235 mm, 8 x 9¼ inches, colour illustrated card covers, 22 pages. 6 attractive colour plates, 17 pages of large sepia line illustrations. Bookseller's small pale stamp to background of upper cover, small name in upper margin of same, a little pale foxing to first few pages. A very good copy. First published in 1885, the last toy book in the series of 16. There is no way of telling from the lower cover whether this is a first edition, but the adverts do not list the edition which collects all 16 titles, published in 1887. This nonsense poem was written by the English dramatist Samuel Foote to test the actor Macklin who had boasted he could memorise anything he had heard or read only once. See Osborne I,63.
