Futuristic novel from 1897, predicting the mechanical inventions fifty years into the future, involving submarine travel and tunnel boring through the planet. Frank Richard Stockton (1834 - 1902) was a popular author of children's fairy tales, two of which were later to be illustrated by Maurice Sendak ("The Griffin and the Minor Canon" and "The Bee-Man of Orn"). Condition: Almost Very Good, with some shelfwear and light dust-soiling to covers.. Hard Cover. Good+.
