Sobre este artículo
New York: Random House, 1974. First Edition [stated]. Hardcover. Good/Good. [4], 251, [1] pages. DJ has some wear and soiling. Some edge soiling noted. James Goldman (June 30, 1927 - October 28, 1998) was an American screenwriter and playwright, and the brother of screenwriter and novelist William Goldman. He is most noted as the author of The Lion in Winter, for which he received an Academy Award, and as the author of the book for the Broadway musical Follies. Derived from a Kirkus review: Playwright-novelist-telescripter Goldman has deaccessioned one of the most attractive stories to come out of the Met, namely about the art Curator from Greek and Roman -- one of those innocents in real life particularly in the unloving hands of his wife Dido. But all is not what it should seem when the Met acquires a 1st century B.C. Roman chalice with an unrevealed price and provenance and the story is invidiously released by the man from the Times who suspects the worst and everyone is after the golden cup (which might even be the Holy Grail) from the Pope to the CIA. Taking matters -- the chalice -- into his own hands, Melvil signs it out and crosses first to England, then to St. Tropez, and on to try and find out who discovered, who owned, who appropriated the find of the century. You'll like everything about the man from Greek and Roman. A picturesque, personable and just exciting enough entertainment.
