Sobre este artículo
1888. An overview of the early days of Green County, Kentucky, and biographies of some of the county's prominent residents from the late 1800s, are combined with a brief history of the state in this new 35-page book. The spiral-bound book includes biographies from the 1880's book, Kentucky: A History of the State by J.H. Battle, W.H. Perrin and G.C. Kniffin, excerpts from Kentucky, a Guide to the Bluegrass State, a 1939 product of the WPA Writer's Program, and information from various internet sources. The tri-color front cover is printed on 80# card stock and has been protected with a vinyl sheet. The text is printed on 60# opaque 8.5" x 11" paper. The individual biographies provide fairly detailed genealogical data. In addition they often shed light on the area and the times, particularly the Civil War era. The biography of General Hobson is a good example of this. The bios include: Walter W. Anderson, Benjamin W. Bailey, James L. Bale, William J. Bale, Dr. John J. Beard, Dr. F.J. Bibb, Thomas J. Blevins, Dr. E.F. Buchanan, H.P. Buchanan, Melvin A. Buchanan, Frederick Cabell, Benjamin F. Chewning, James T. Close, Robert F. Craddock, Dr. Samuel D. Coakley, Thomas Coakley, James J. Courts, Dr. E.J. Graham, James L. Hamilton, George W. Haselwood, Dr. R.W. Haselwood, Jeff Henry, General Edward H. Hobson (picture), Dr. Thomas P. Hodges, Thomas Hudgin, Drury Hudson, Dr. William M. Lewis, Thomas R. Mitchell, John H. Montgomery, Dr. Charles D. Moore, Capt. Samuel W. Moore, Alex L. Patton, Benjamin W. Penick, George W. Sullivan, Judge David T. Towles, William N. Vaughan, and Hugh W. Wilson. The WPA excerpt includes a brief history of the state, a small map of the area and a stop at Greensburg. . Limited Edition Reprint. Spiral/Comb .
