London: Methuen & Co., Ltd., 1925 Noted book collector and essayist on books, Claude Prance's copy, with his Malta address label on front pastedown, his signature in pencil, and annotation on rear end paper. Hard cover, small 8vo., in quarter green cloth with lighter green paper covered boards. Cream paper label to front board and spine titles thereon in black. Two edges untrimmed. Dust jacket in cream laid paper with green titles and publisher's advert to rear. Condition: Very Good. Stain to spine label. Moderate foxing to end papers, and occasionally light foxing within. Age toned. Dust jacket is Very Good, with small crease to front, chip to spine edge and some light foxing. Spine area a bit darkened. Protected in mylar. Contains the poem,"Roundabouts and Swings." This book of verse, originally published in 1912, was the first literary venture of Irish author and poet Patrick R. Chalmers (1872-1942.) A banker by trade, he would switch careers in his 40's and devoted himself exclusively to the literary life, publishing several well-regarded biographies, novels and verse. His sporting subjects were included in the literary competition to the 1924 Summer Olympics.. fifth Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good.
