First edition. 1976 Newbery Medal Winner! The fourth book in Susan Cooper's award winning The Dark is Rising sequence. With the final battle between the Light and the Dark approaching, Will sets out to find a magical harp hidden in the Welsh hills, which he must use to wake the Sleepers – six noble riders who have slept for centuries. But an illness has robbed Will of nearly all his knowledge of the Old Ones, leaving him with only a broken riddle to guide him. Will's journey will bring him face-to-face with the most powerful Lord of the Dark – the Grey King – who holds the harp and Sleepers within his lands. Can Will find a force strong enough to tear them from his grasp?
