Brandt writes this book in a question and answer format to teach on a variety of topics as it relates to gunnery including calls for assembling, different kinds of firing, mortars, housing guns, general questions on gunnery, and much more!
This 1864 first edition is complete with detailed illustrated diagrams of the guns and their component parts, tables and charts of ranges for different mortars, and a diagram showing the manner of shifting stations in exercise to drill each of the guns crew in all the required duties!
