GUNS OF AUGUST(SIGNATURE) & AUGUST 1914(SIGNED)

The UK title is August 1914 is the exact same book, word for word, chapter by chapter. I have had this book in my private collection for over 20 years because it was a signed Pulitzer winner(I was always intending to replace it with the American Signed and sell it). When I bought it I did not know things like tipped in, but I do now and I believe it maybe tipped in because the page color is different. But then again I have seen tip in by printers the same way. It is a beautiful signature. The American (STATED First Printing) copy of The Guns of August is a newly acquired book, bought just a few weeks ago. It is unsigned but while flipping thru it(I do this with every book to look for family treasures like $$$$, which I have found many times), I ran across the Post Card. Oh but not just any Post Card but one made for Barbara Tuchman. It is addressed in her handwriting and has a personal message and signed in her hand. It is canceled so I don't think it came with the book by her as well, which happens to have a nice photo of the author. The book has minor issues as seen like light foxing to the top edge(can be sanded away did not have any) and the DJ also has some soiling and stains) other than that the book is one of the best I've seen(which is very rare itself). The DJ is the one that belongs with the book it fits as it should. The 1st 2 issues were a little bit bigger of the priced DJ, some are paired with BOMC to appear as such. Ever heard of a 4th printing BCE of this title(no there was not their 1st has a "W" and the rest nothing is stated). The 3rd is an Easton Press special edition issue with real leather and gold lettering and page ends, I do not see any defects but just in case I list it as almost new. There are very few of these books listed as either 1st Editions. The card is the first I have ever seen or heard of. Signed anything is also rare. There is a listing for about $3500 and a 4th BCE for $950 so I have started this collection somewhat in the middle and I do not expect it will last long because of best offer in the listing. If I receive a bid I will try and leave it listed the time on it but remember a best offer will be accepted at any time maybe try that route sooner. because of limited number of photos I will spread this listing to include each book with different prices in case you just want the one, but it will be a better deal together here.
