Sobre este artículo

New York, NY: Longmans, Green and Co.. Very Good+ in Very Good- dust jacket. 1959. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Hardcover. This copy has been signed twice - first by the author on the half title page, and also signed by the author's husband Earle Tisdale Hobart on the dedication page. The book is in Very Good+ condition and has a Very Good- dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The spine ends have some light bumping and rubbing. The text pages are clean and bright. The price clipped dust jacket has several edge tears, nicks and small chips, especially to the spine ends and corners. "Her life in Changsha formed the backdrop for her second book, By the City of the Long Sand in 1926, while an assault on Nanking by Nationalist soldiers and her escape over the city wall to the safety of the waiting American gunboats was recounted in Within the Walls of Nanking in 1928. This book started as a piece in Harper's Magazine. Her fictional account of her experiences in China, not surprisingly, focused on the role played by Western businessmen, especially those engaged in importing and selling petroleum products."
