Dr. Yosef Hayim Yerushalmi held the Salo Wittmayer Baron chair of Jewish history at Columbia University. He specialized in Sephardic Diaspora history, authoring From Spanish Court to Italian Ghetto; Isaac Cardoso: A Study in Seventeenth-Century Marranism and Jewish Apologetics. In addition he wrote such works as Zakhor: Jewish History and Jewish Memory and Freud's Moses: Judaism Terminable and Interminable.
