MOUNTED: two press cuttings (Deniliquin Standard, Sept. 9,1992) re launch of this book. This is regional history at its best; told in the words of those who experienced it, without sentimentality or bitterness - although one old shearer clearly hated army life during WWII. Different stories tell of the advent of the motor vehicle, tractor and aeroplane, the effect of electricity on homestead life and the prosperity that came with irrigation channels. Not all these stories are true, however (the old-time raconteurs from the White Lion Hotel, for example). Includes many funny cartoons and historic district photographs.
