Signed the the author four times: Long personal inscription and signature, dated 2014, sharing the loss of a team member with a friend to the half title page. Signed by the author on the title page. Laid in: two copies of a color-photocopied hand-drawn map (8.5 in. x 11 in.) of the climbing route of Mt. McKinley by Howard Snyder, with his signature to the bottom left corner. Illustrated with many black and white photographs.
Gray cloth boards with metallic blue title to spine. Light shelfwear to edges. Endpaper maps. Previous owner's name (to whom the inscription is written) to the front free endpaper. Three inch closed tear to base of dustjacket spine. Gentle wear to dustjacket flaps. Prpotected in mylar. The true story of the 1967 Mt. McKinley expedition which claimed the lives of seven people, with a touching inscription by one of the survivors of the expedition to a dear friend.
