Limited to 1000 copies, this is number 630. The book is in Very Good- condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some light bumping, rubbing and wear. There is a small edge tear to the bottom spine end. The covers have several spots of discoloration and there is a light, but noticeable spot of water damage to the top front cover. The text pages are clean and bright. This copy has been signed by Elizabeth Chamberlayne, a relation of the author. "John Hampden Chamberlayne (1838-1882) , son of Dr. Lewis Webb Chamberlayne and Martha Burwell (Dabney) Chamberlayne, was an artillery captain during the Civil War. Afterwards, he worked for newspapers in Petersburg and Norfolk before moving to Richmond in 1876 to establish The State. " .
