"The condition and treatment of Japanese women is implicit in the author's conviction that the spread of Christianity in Japan would be of great benefit. Hana regrets the 'wicked' fall of her school friend 'good O Miki San' who has sold herself for a paltry debt, and is now a dancing girl in some evil place of amusement" - N. Morris. Intended for younger readers but enjoyable for all. Unmarked with above-average wear. Most of backstrip missing, with balance almost loose. A worthy reading copy of this lovely vintage work..
