The sub-title continues "being a practical treatise on the manufacture and application of dynamite, gun-cotton, nitro-glycerine, & other explosive compounds, including the manufacture of collodion-cotton". "With about One Hundred Illustrations". Book bound in brown cloth with gilt titles on the front and the spine, clean bright and square, just a small stain to the bottom rear edge. Hinge and text-block firm, black end papers, small neat ink inscription to the half title page. Pages smooth and clean, very lightly age-toned, illustrated throughout. An extremely good copy of a very scarce book.
