This Stated First Edition is a charming retelling of six famous fairy tales, including Rumpelstiltskin, Beauty and the Beast, Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, The Frog Prince, and Jack and the Beanstalk. William Steig's color drawings are an absolute delight. The book is in Fine condition, except for a gift inscription to the original owner on the page prior to the Title Page. The price-clipped dust jacket has a small closed tear on the spine crown and a light crease on the front panel. I've placed the dust jacket into an archival Brodart protective sleeve. The book is bound in lavender boards and has die-stamped gilt spine titles. The book measures 7 7/8 by 6 1/16 inches and includes 143 pages. . Stated First Edition. Hard Cover. Fine/Near Fine. Illus. by William Steig. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
