Sobre este artículo
Philadelphia: Porter & Coates, 1885. This picaresque novel was one of the most popular written by Samuel Lover (1797-1868), who also was a talented songwriter and artist. First published in America in 1842; this is a Very Good copy of a Later Printing. This is part of the publisher's "Alta Edition" series, which started in 1881 and printed both juvenile and adult titles. There is no publication date; Quercus suggests 1885-1890 as a likely possibllity. Green decorative cloth binding with stamping in black; titling in gilt on the spine. Clean text, lightly toned; 419 pages, with an eleven-page publisher's catalog in the rear. The frontis illustration is by the author. Light rubbing, with bumped corners; the gilt on the spine is dulled but remains perfectly readable. The first free endpaper has been removed. . Reprint Edition. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Samuel Lover. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
