A horticultural work on the culture of different fruits under glass, with chapters on the pineapple, the grape vine, the peach and nectarine, the fig, the melon, the strawberry, and the cucumber. With a commentary on the systems on which they are recommended to be grown, including a calendar with instructions for each month. Written by David Thomson, a British horticulturalist. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with the odd mark to the boards. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or handling mark. Light age toning and spotting to the endpaper. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper dated 1877. Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
