Sobre este artículo
The Detective Book Club produced volumes of three crime novels from 1942 to 1999. Originally monthly, near the end they dwindled down to just a few per year. Many famous detective and crime novelists had their early works featured in DBC editions. Often, books were published in DBC editions before, or at the same time as they were published in mass market form. Here's some information about these three authors:
Bill Knox: Knox wrote under his own name and three pen names. He wrote two detective series under his own name, the Thane and Moss series (25 books) and the Webb Carrick series (15). There were three other series which he published under the name of Robert MacLeod, totaling another 22 books. He also wrote 12 stand alone novels. Knox died in 1999. The Hanging Tree is the 18th book in the Thane and Moss Series.
E. X. Ferrars: During her career, Ferrars published over 70 novels, mostly as stand-alones. Her longest series were the Virginia Freer and Andrew Basnett series, each with eight volumes. Something Wicked is the first Andrew Basnett novel. Ferrars passed away in 1995.
Monica Quinn: Pen name of Ralph McInerny, best known for his 29 novel Father Dowling Mysteries. As Monica Quill, he wrote ten novels in the Sister Mary Theresa mystery series. If you are sensing a theme here, McInerny taught for forty years at Notre Dame. McInerny wrote 52 other novels and 20 non-fiction books. McInerny died in 2010. Anf Then There was Nun is the third Sister Mary Theresa novel.
The book shows little wear. The pages have yellowed a bit. Everything seems clean and the binding appears solid.
