Very good original green cloth pictorial boards, a little rubbing to corners, corners slightly bowed, open lettering for title against a gilt background to front board and spine, mild creasing to top and bottom of spine, the decorative boards show Tommelise using shades of blue, orange and cream, olivine closed page edges, a few background marks to front board plain endpapers, dedication written to the page opposite the title page in pretty italic script in black and red ink finishing with Christmas 1944, delightful coloured and black and white plates, the coloured fronitispiece is missing, some foxing, a few pencil marks in the text but not really a problem, 380 pages. Classic fairy tales beautifully presented. .
