New York: Harper and Brothers, 1895. Wraps. Good. Folio. Illustrated wraps. Folio. Apparently disbound from a bound volume. Black and white photos and illustrations throughout. Single issue of this journal, including an article on the First Cycle Infantry, written and illustrated by Frederic Remington, and being a fictional account of soldiers using bicycles in the military. Also present is a page of illustrations by American Impressionist Childe Hassam, depicting rebellion in eastern Cuba; photos of life in Ceylon; a two page illustration depicting a naval battle at Wei Hai Wei, one of the last battles of the First Sino-Japanese War. GOOD condition. Spine rough, with some chipping and tearing. Minor soiling and toning. Some curling at the corners. Several leaves DETACHED in the interior.
