States "First Edition" on the copyright page, indicating both a first edition and first printing. Dust jacket artwork by Giles Greenfield. Pictorial dust jacket replicated by the boards, 636 pages.

Contains the following first state errors: Page 503: "'Dumbledore, come!' said Crouch angrily", later changed to "Fudge". Page 579 at the beginning of paragraph 2, "the smokey shadow of a tall man" implies Harry's father appears to be coming, contradicted by the statement "Your mother's coming" in paragraph 3. The mother should be coming through first, not the father, which was changed in later printings. Page 594 "'The Imperious curse', Moody said", later changed to "Crouch said". All first edition/first printing copies contain the three errors.
