Number "1" present in string of numbers on copyright page. A collectible copy of this highly sought-after book. Book itself is in very nice condition, with some blunting to corners and slight lean to spine. Previous owner's name discreetly written on verso of half-title page. Dustjacket is also very nice with 1/8" closed tear at foot of spine, and 1/4" chip to front top corner. There is some rubbing to other corners as well. Overall, an attractive, presentable copy. All points of true first printing present: Red cloth spine with gilt lettering. Purple boards with diamond embossed pattern. Green endpapers. Original price of $16.95 intact. Guardian review on back of jacket. Two barcodes on back of jacket, with number 51695 above the smaller code. Author's name on jacket and title-page. "Harry Potter" written in raised gold embossed letter on front of jacket. "Year 1" lacking from spine. 309pp. Text clean, binding strong. [Montreal Books rating system: 1. Fine 2. Near Fine 3.
