Original red cloth boards with gilt vignette to front, extremities worn and some discolouration, and with splittinjg to edge of spine. Foxing to fore edges. Pictorial endpapers covered with pasted down blank paper. Cracked at spine at title page & page 80, pages 57 - 63 partially loose. Interior sparsely scattered with faint foxing & thumbing mainly to margins, page 22 top corner chipped. Plates bright and clean. Previous owner's name to ffe circa 1916.. Beautifully illustrated by Arthur Rackham. A selection of popular tales of classical Greek mythology. 'The Gorgon's Head', 'The Golden Touch', The Paradise of Children', ' The Three Golden Apples', 'The Miraculous Pitcher' & 'The Chimaera'.
