In two volumes, 384pp, and 384pp., both half-titles present, illustrated with sixty-four illustrations by Marcus Stone. The story of a very jealous husband who abducts his son and flees to Italy only to find himself going completely mad. His wife Emily followed him and he was eventually induced to return to England where he soon died. A beautiful set finely bound by Bayntun in 3/4 brown polished calf over brown cloth, raised bands with compartments decoratively stamped in gilt, double green leather spine labels gilt, top edges gilt.
Sinopsis
He Knew He Was Right is a 1869 novel written by Anthony Trollope which describes the failure of a marriage caused by the unreasonable jealousy of a husband exacerbated by the stubbornness of a willful wife. As is common with Trollope's works, there are also several substantial subplots. Trollope makes constant allusions to Shakespeare's Othello throughout the novel.
