Hand-drawn cartoon by Leonard with signature at middle of illustration. Depicts the runner Dan Dean who was coached by Ted Meredith at the University of Pennsylvania. Ink and pencil. Illustration states Dan Dean "will be an outstanding candidate for the 5,000 and 10,000 meter Olympic tests next Summer. He beat the record for the Intercollegiate Cross-Country Championship at New York last Fall." Created on a textured paper. Back of illustration has a pink stamp saying "Property of [?] George Matthew Adams Service, [?] Park Avenue, New York." Light soiling and small areas of foxing (see image). 6 x 10 inches. Shipped through USPS Priority insured mail.
